Before your car leaves Ohio, follow these simple steps to keep it safe:

• Remove all personal items, toll tags, and any loose accessories from the interior and exterior.
• Make sure the fuel tank is no more than a quarter full to reduce weight.
• Check for fluid leaks and fix any obvious issues; carriers will not transport a leaking vehicle.
• Gather all keys, including spare, and keep them together for the driver.
• Document the vehicle’s condition with photos of all angles and note any existing damage.
• Disable any alarms or anti‑theft devices that could trigger during transport.
• Ensure the tires are properly inflated and the battery is charged.

Yes. When you ship a vehicle in Ohio with Sakaem Logistics, the carrier must carry at least $1,000,000 in liability insurance and $100,000 in cargo insurance. We verify the carrier’s policy before the truck leaves the terminal and keep it active for the entire trip. If any damage occurs, the carrier’s cargo insurance covers the loss up to the policy limit. You will receive a copy of the insurance certificate upon request.

We recommend booking your pickup at least two weeks before you need it. The earlier you schedule, the more options carriers have to bundle your vehicle with other loads in Ohio, which can lower cost and improve timing. During busy periods such as summer or holiday moves, aim for three to four weeks notice to secure a spot and avoid last‑minute price spikes. If you have a firm date in mind, reserve the service as soon as you know your moving schedule.

We accept all forms of payment. We can arrange credit cards or arrange for you to pay the carrier directly through cash/certified check. We even accept payment via Cash/Zelle/Venmo.

Your shipment with SAKAEM includes up to 100 lbs of personal items or household goods stored in the trunk area or secured below the window line. If your shipment includes ocean transit (Hawaii shipments), your vehicle must be emptied of all items. A designated (adult) must be present at pickup and delivery. This designated person plays an important role in the shipping process including documenting the state of the vehicle and signing the Bill of Lading, which acts as a receipt of the vehicle’s condition.

Open transport uses a standard multi‑car trailer with the vehicles exposed to the elements. It is the most common and affordable option, typically 30‑50% cheaper than enclosed service. Open carriers are ideal for everyday cars, trucks, and SUVs that are not highly valuable or sensitive to weather or road debris.

Enclosed transport moves the vehicle inside a fully covered trailer. The price is usually 40‑60% higher because the trailer protects against rain, snow, dust, rocks and sun‑fade. This option is best for classic, collector, luxury, or custom‑paint cars, as well as any vehicle you want to keep pristine during the trip.

In Ohio, weather can shift quickly—from snow in winter to heavy rain in spring—so an enclosed carrier can shield your car from moisture and road salt that might cause rust or corrosion. Open carriers are still safe for most shipments, but you accept the risk of minor scratches or dings from wind‑blown debris.

Choose open if you want a budget‑friendly move and your vehicle has standard resale value. Choose enclosed if you need extra protection for a high‑value or delicate vehicle, or if you simply prefer peace of mind.

Yes, we offer door‑to‑door auto transport in Ohio. When you book, we ask for the exact pickup and delivery addresses. Our carrier will travel to those locations and load your vehicle, then deliver it straight to the address you provided. If a road, size or safety issue prevents a direct drop‑off, we will coordinate a nearby safe spot such as a well‑lit parking lot or gas station.
